Declare Your Swimmer(s)

Before each meet you must declare whether your swimmer will be attending or not attending the meet. If you do not declare your swimmer, they won't be able to compete.

Learn more about how to Declare your swimmer with screenshots and step-by-step instructions.

For same-day emergencies email us.

Pool Deck Info

We will have a limited number of chairs available for spectators. Please consider bringing your own chair. At 5pm, most of our pool deck is in the full sun so plan accordingly. The pool is mostly shaded by about 6pm.

Please help us keep the pool deck clear by staying on the sides of the pool and not behind the timers.

Our Snack Shack will be open and you're free to bring your own food. Just be sure to clean up your area before leaving the meet. Please, no glass containers around the pool.

Parents are responsible for their own children at all times during swim meets. If you cannot attend a meet with your child, please arrange for another adult to be responsible.

Packing List

Your swimmer will need to wear an appropriate all-black swimsuit and have a pair of goggles with them. We will provide swim caps which will be distributed before the Mock Meet. Bring extra towels, thick warm clothes, water, snacks, something to keep your swimmer entertained, and more dry clothes to change into after the meet.

It Takes A Village

Our swim meets require a lot of volunteers to make them flow smoothly. Our expectation is that all parents will volunteer for at least 2 meets this season. To sign up as a volunteer or to read more about the positions, please visit starclairedolphins.com/volunteers. Thank you for your help!

FAQs

What is the goal of the summer swim team?

Our main goal is to provide a fun, inclusive, and skill-building experience where swimmers improve technique, build confidence, and enjoy team spirit.

Who can join the team?

The only requirements to join the swim team are that the swimmer must be at least 5 years old and must be able to swim the length of the pool independently (25 meters). If you're unsure if your swimmer can complete the 25 meters, the coaches will host a trial day on the first day of practice where swimmers can demonstrate their skills. Do not register your child until you are confident they can complete this requirement.

When are practices held?

Practices are held Monday thru Thursday: 8 years old and younger practice from 5-6pm and 9 years old and older practice from 6-7pm. A detailed schedule can be found by downloading the full calendar.

What should my swimmer bring to practice?

Swimmers should bring a swimsuit, towel, goggles, and a water bottle. We encourage swimmers to wear their swim caps but they are optional for practice.

What happens if there’s bad weather?

You’ll receive a notification via email if practice is canceled due to weather.

What do I need to purchase?

For practices, your swimmer can wear any appropriate swim attire. For meets, swimmers will need a black swimsuit that fits properly, the brand doesn't matter. Goggles are also necessary. For meets, we recommend bringing two towels, a water bottle with your swimmer's name on it, and a snack.

What will be provided?

We will provide swimmers with a swim cap and t-shirt.

When are the practices and meets?

Download our full calendar of practices, meets, and other events.

What time should we arrive at meets?

Swimmers should arrive at the time designated for warm-ups and check-in; this will be provided before each meet. Coaches will confirm times weekly.

What should my swimmer bring to a meet?

Swimsuit, cap, goggles, two towels, water/snacks, and something to stay warm or entertained between events. Also, your swimmer will be provided with an ID number which will need to be written on their shoulders in permanent marker so the judges can differentiate between swimmers.

What if my child can’t attend a meet?

Please notify the coach and team rep as soon as possible so we can adjust lineups accordingly.

Do parents need to volunteer?

Yes! Swim meets require many volunteers to run smoothly. Parents are expected to volunteer for at least 2 meets during the season. Don't worry, we’ll provide guidance for all roles - no experience necessary!

What is Swimmingly?

This year we'll use the Swimmingly App for all of our meets. You'll simply register your swimmer(s) using the link provided after you register your swimmer(s) on our website, download the SwimminglyFan App for iPhone or Android, and you'll:

  • Receive push notifications before each of your swimmer's races.
  • See your swimmer's results instantly after each race.
  • View live scoring from swim meet in real-time.
  • Track the live event order to know exactly how much longer the meet will last.
